SEASON: May 1st –August 15
This area, known as the depression of the Rio Salado, provides
excellent duck shoots. The land consists of good croplands,
potholes, ponds, lagoons and marshlands. It is ideal habitat for
ducks. Shooting is primarily done in baited lagoons or ponds,
pass shooting between water areas, and surrounding the cropland
areas. Normally our guests hunt by pairs in natural blinds. There
is a 25 duck limit for morning hunts, and a 15 duck limit for
afternoon hunting. Perdiz hunts are arranged behind a pointing
and retrieving dog for each pair of guns. An average of 20 points
per dog can be expected during this hunt. The alternative of a
pigeon hunt, which is not constant, is done in feeding areas or in
the occasional roosting area.
